About the role
Centuri Group is seeking experienced Overhead Distribution Crews to support the Rio Grande Valley Resiliency Project. We are looking for established crews consisting of a Foreman, Journeyman Lineman or Lineman A, Lineman B, and Apprentice who are committed to safely delivering high-quality overhead distribution construction.
Responsibilities
- Perform overhead electric distribution construction and maintenance.
- Construct, rebuild, and maintain distribution power lines.
- Safely operate equipment and tools required for overhead line work.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
- Work collaboratively as an established crew to complete assigned projects.
- Maintain productivity while delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Travel throughout the Rio Grande Valley project area as required.
- Represent Linetec with professionalism and integrity on every job site.
Qualifications
Foreman
- Previous experience leading overhead distribution crews.
- Strong leadership, communication, and safety management skills.
- CDL preferred or ability to obtain one within company guidelines.
Journeyman Lineman/ A Lineman
- Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent experience.
- Extensive overhead distribution experience.
- Ability to perform energized and de-energized line work safely.
- CDL is required or ability to obtain one within company guidelines.
Lineman B
- Progressive overhead distribution experience.
- Ability to safely perform line construction under the direction of the Foreman.
- CDL is required or ability to obtain one within company guidelines.
Apprentice
- Basic knowledge of overhead line construction preferred.
- Willingness to learn and develop through hands-on field experience.
- CDL is required or ability to obtain one within company guidelines.
Crew Requirements
- Experience in overhead electric distribution construction.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel within the Rio Grande Valley project area.

Work Environment
- Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
- All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
- Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
- Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Legal Stuff
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
- Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required
- Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
