Over the Road Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely transport products over longer distances to dealer, customer, and distribution locations.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT and company requirements.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload products safely and accurately.
• Maintain accurate logs, trip documentation, delivery records, mileage, and expense information.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members throughout each trip.
• Follow all DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, traffic laws, and company safety standards.
• Plan routes effectively and manage time to meet delivery schedules.
• Represent Northern National Trucking professionally at customer and dealer locations.
• Report vehicle concerns, delivery issues, accidents, freight damage, or safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Clean driving record
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening
• Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements required within 90 days of hire
• Ability to travel overnight and remain OTR for 3–5 days at a time as required by route assignments
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with dispatch and the team

Compensation

This position is paid hourly. Hours worked over 40 in a workweek are considered overtime and paid at time and a half.
