About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to welcome all resort guests to the property and to load/unload all golf bags/items. The individual will be responsible for directing guests to facility amenities and delivering an elite golf experience while living Pinehurst’s core values; Genuine Hospitality, Be Trustworthy, Good Stewards and Inspired Innovation.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct guests to staging and starting area.
- Handle all golf bags/items by loading/unloading prior to round and after round.
- Maintain a visible presence at the bag drop, designated parking areas and staging area.
- Cookordinate bag movement with transportation and assist guests with transportation needs while on property.
- Daily management of the practice facility; pick, clean and bag all practice balls.
- Keep practice tee and practice green clear of loose golf balls, maintain areas to original setup standard.
- Ensure all areas of the practice facility are consistently maintained and in order.
- Assist in delivering product to on course comfort stations as needed.
- Interface with guests, employees and caddies on a daily basis.
- Ensure any guest issues and concerns are promptly brought to the attention of supervisors/management.
- Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment. Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls and must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing all tasks.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma as a minimum. Students who are currently enrolled in High School who are working part time while attending school are an exception.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The individual must be able to endure extended periods of time standing and walking but is occasionally required to sit. The individual must regularly be able to lift and/or move, push/pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The individual has no supervisory responsibilities.
Teamwork
Working with all members of the golf operation team to ensure that each facet of the operation is functioning properly. Elevate the guest experience to the highest standard by working with peers on the common goal.
Language Skills

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The individual is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
