About the Role
Gorman Co., a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is seeking an Outside Salesperson for their Jacksonville, FL location. This role focuses on attracting and retaining customers, conducting face-to-face meetings, visiting job sites, and building lasting relationships to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Proactively conduct face-to-face customer meetings and visit job sites to meet with decision-makers.
- Work with the Profit Center Manager to establish revenue and margin targets.
- Analyze sales reports and tools to develop strategies for growing market share and meeting monthly sales targets.
- Process sales orders, bids, and job information packages in accordance with company policies.
- Participate in sales meetings, complete customer call reports, and maintain customer profile data.
- Identify opportunities to grow sales with existing customers and implement value-added services.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues, including pricing deductions and material returns.
- Facilitate payment of accounts receivable and communicate any credit risks.
- Support Inside Sales and Profit Center activities as part of the team.
- Join industry associations to stay informed about market trends and technologies.
- Complete required safety and compliance training programs.
Requirements
- 1+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in contractor sales.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record meeting company criteria for Authorized Driver status.
- Extensive knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) for communication, sales planning, and data analysis.
- Ability to build influential relationships and trust with customers and vendors.
- Deep product knowledge to answer customer questions and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities.
- Consultative mindset to understand customer goals and act as a trusted advisor.
- Skill in overcoming objections by offering profitable solutions.
- Excellent communication, listening, and persuasion skills.
- Self-directed with strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Willingness to learn warehouse material-handling equipment and order processing systems.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
