About the role
Essex Brownell, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of wire and cable products, seeks an Outside Sales Representative to join its dynamic sales team in the distribution division. This role covers the open territory for Motor Repair, which includes Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, and West Texas. The position is home based (remote) with consistent overnight travel.
Responsibilities
- Manage a significant customer base in an established sales territory.
- Cultivate relationships in multifaceted vertical organizations and devise tailored growth plans.
- New business prospecting.
- Assess and develop future market and account opportunities.
- Execute sales plans outlined by the Division, Sales, and Marketing Teams.
- Resolve complex issues within the sales territory.
- Market and promote Essex magnet wire and extensive complementary product lines, including electrical motors and motor repair parts.
- Cook up internal and external resources to serve customers and prospects.
- Joint selling with key suppliers to bring value-based solutions.
- Effectively plan and conduct sales visits with customers and prospects, preparing agendas and actionable follow-up items.
- Work with a well-planned approach, demonstrating technical knowledge regarding electrical products and their applications.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of related work experience in industrial sales.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 50% overnight travel.
- Experience selling electrical motors, electrical motor repair parts, magnet wire, electrical insulation, or complementary products preferred.
- Knowledge of the Transformer market is a plus.
