The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales and profit objectives for their assigned territory or industry, working closely with the Sales Manager to establish and maximize sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Generates and develops new business to meet specified production goals.
  • Maintains and nurtures existing client relationships.
  • Responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepares and presents sales proposals.
  • Plans and manages sales territory.
  • Understands and communicates information regarding company products, services, and policies to new and existing clients.
  • Works closely with the branch inside sales and management team for alignment.
  • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry product information.
  • Gathers information on local competition and industry climate; communicates insights to management.
  • Negotiates contracts and work agreements.
  • Ensures all required client paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Provides timely and accurate reports as required.
  • Attends business/trade events and team strategic sales meetings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of outside sales experience in the same or similar industry preferred.
  • Computer literate; proficient with MS Office 365.
  • Experience with distribution-specific ERP systems, preferably Eclipse.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.
