About the role
Working with the Sales Manager, the Sales Representative executes the sales strategy for an assigned geography, achieving sales and profitability objectives while implementing a sound marketing strategy to maximize profitability and efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Sales Manager to develop market-specific strategies, account plans, and call plans.
- Execute sales strategies to meet proposed sales volume and selling expense budgets and forecasts for the region.
- Nurture and build customer relationships, negotiating effectively, closing sales, and identifying unmet or latent customer needs.
- Minimize outstanding past-due balances and broaden business relationships with customers.
- Meet performance objectives and drive implementation of more effective sales processes and practices.
- Take on leadership roles in industry associations.
- Manage customer complaints and resolutions in collaboration with Sales, Production, and Quality Control teams.
- Develop sales objectives for market areas and recommend pricing strategies and promotional programs for key customers.
- Introduce new and existing customers to new product lines to promote market share growth.
- Assist in identifying, working with, and tracking early-stage development projects.
- Forecast short- and long-term sales volumes and monitor market conditions for potential impacts on the company.
- Demonstrate commitment to safety policies in all work environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction, sales/marketing, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of ready-mix concrete experience desired.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to provide direct and actionable feedback.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Willingness to reside within the assigned geographic area.
- Proficiency with computers, including Google G Suite and MS Office.
