The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for increasing sales with existing customers while generating new business opportunities through strategic prospecting and project-driven selling. This role focuses on direct selling, specification influence, and disciplined project tracking to manage opportunities from concept through close.

Professional Development

What You’ll Do

  • Schedule and execute sales calls and presentations with A&D firms, builders, fabricators, millwork shops, and other key influencers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders across customer organizations.
  • Influence product specification by educating the market on product benefits, applications, and Parksite’s service and support capabilities.
  • Maintain a detailed project profile database to manage, track, and evaluate sales opportunities.
  • Monitor, document, and report competitive products, market activity, and levels of penetration within the territory.
  • Identify, understand, and communicate new product opportunities to customers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the inside sales team on lead qualification, project updates, pricing, and opportunity progression.
  • Work cross-functionally with fabrication partners and internal departments such as logistics and accounting to close project opportunities.
  • Participate in monthly project pipeline reviews with the Sales Manager.

What You Bring

  • Required Qualifications: Five or more years of experience calling on specifiers, owners, contractors, and related industry professionals; proven sales success within surface materials, millwork, fabrication, or related building materials industries; demonstrated understanding of product applications, limitations, and project-based selling.
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong direct selling ability with a consultative, relationship-focused approach; excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills; high sense of urgency, accountability, and results-driven mindset.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry product samples and materials up to 30–50 lbs.; ability to travel throughout the assigned territory for in-person sales calls and presentations; ability to stand, walk, and conduct on-site meetings for extended periods.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of surface product offerings and specification-driven sales environments.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce for pipeline and project management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel preferred) and ERP systems.
