Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territory or industry.
  • Conduct in-person sales calls, presentations, and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong principal and customer relationships to drive loyalty and repeat business.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Manage an assigned sales territory with regular travel to client sites.
  • Plan and execute daily/weekly schedules for prospecting and follow-ups.
  • Maintain a pipeline of active opportunities using CRM tools.
  • Collaborate with principals and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues.

Territory & Account Management

Market & Product Knowledge

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of product lines, pricing, and promotions.
  • Provide feedback from the field to help improve offerings and sales strategies.

Reporting & Administration

  • Accurately document all sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance and territory updates.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Compensation

$90,000–$100,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission. Historically, team members in this role have earned total annual compensation in the $140,000–$160,000+ range, with top performers having unlimited earning potential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of outside sales experience, preferably industrial B2B.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical aptitude in industrial and process-driven environments and ability to understand, present, and troubleshoot complex products or systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Solid presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho).

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory (up to 25% overnight travel may be required).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, depending on product type.
  • Flexible work hours based on client needs and travel schedule.
