Outside Sales Engineer

Join our team as an Outside Sales Engineer and be part of a legacy of excellence in the metals industry. This role supports a territory extending from Maryland and Delaware up into Maine, with ideal candidates residing in the Buffalo, NY area, Devens, MA area, or the Wilmington, DE area.

About the role

Engage with customers via phone and email, collaborating with internal and external partners to meet their needs. Conduct technical sales briefings and research customer specifications to tailor product solutions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and qualify customer-provided documents such as prints, CAD files, and specifications
• Develop a full understanding of tolerances, materials, specifications, and processing options to guide robust metal supply chain creation
• Manage part-specific supply chains by utilizing internal and external processing assets to meet customer quality and delivery requirements
• Estimate material, labor, and delivery options on a part-level basis and develop contract pricing templates based on awarded work
• Evaluate sales proposals to ensure they are technically accurate and consistent with the organization’s quality standards
• Conduct technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer-specific prices
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred
• 1-3 years of sales experience in the metal industry
• Print reading required; CAD or drafting experience a plus
• Experience with SAP is highly preferred
• MS Office software skills required, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience in sales or customer service is an asset
• Working knowledge of geometry, strong math skills, and a technical aptitude

Pay

$68,437.28 - $102,655.92 annually. A starting salary higher than $68,437.28 annually is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements.
