Outside Sales Associate

Position Summary

A leading importer and distributor of premium Japanese food products is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Outside Sales Associate (Fresh Fish) in Southern California. This role focuses on developing new business, managing customer relationships, increasing sales, and supporting fresh seafood distribution. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, proactive, and passionate about the food industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with restaurants, retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and other foodservice customers.
• Generate new business opportunities and grow sales within the Fresh Fish category.
• Conduct customer visits, product presentations, and sales activities to achieve revenue targets.
• Monitor market trends, prepare sales reports, and support marketing initiatives, including trade shows and promotional activities.
• Coordinate shipments, logistics, and delivery schedules with warehouses, carriers, and internal teams.
• Track orders, resolve shipment-related issues, and support inventory management activities.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through responsive service and ongoing account management.
• Collaborate with internal departments and support additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Business-level Japanese and English communication skills required; native-level Japanese preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in foodservice, food distribution, wholesale, or a related industry.
• Fresh fish or seafood industry experience strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel locally throughout Southern California.
• Strong sales, customer relationship management, and communication skills.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Japanese foods, seafood products, and food culture is a plus.

Pay

• USD 50,000-70,000 (DOE) + Discretionary Bonus
