About the role
Exceed sales and profit targets in a designated territory by implementing sales and marketing programs and establishing both short and long-term sales strategies. Drive growth by securing profitable new accounts through industry research, networking, and proactive prospecting. This position requires operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle consistently more than 50% of the average work week. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be run, and an acceptable MVR is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage sales and customer retention initiatives to enhance overall sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee planning, forecasting, and reporting of sales activities and competitive pricing tactics.
- Generate a strategic sales call schedule and engage in face-to-face customer visits to identify opportunities and enhance sales revenue.
- Promote value-added solutions, skillfully navigate objections, and address adversities.
- Identify, develop, and maintain a pipeline of qualified, managed accounts to meet or exceed total sales and margin plans using a designated CRM tool.
- Focus on new account opportunities using effective cold call strategies to facilitate territory growth.
- Implement approved sales strategies to achieve targeted sales outcomes and foster valuable customer relationships.
- Maintain industry-specific product knowledge and a deep understanding of specialized services to cater to client accounts.
- Utilize Salesforce reporting and data analysis to identify opportunities for sales and revenue growth.
- Review customer portfolio to identify and drive action with underperforming accounts.
- Collaborate with inside sales to support business growth and development.
- Identify key barriers and apply problem-solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, making decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
- Independently perform assignments with instruction limited to expected results, determining approaches to solutions.
- May oversee projects, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (preferred).
- Business-to-Business sales experience, including consultative or solution-based selling techniques.
- Proficiency with Salesforce.
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline with 5-8 years of experience, or MS/MA with 3-5 years of experience.
- Certification may be required in some areas.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area; unpleasant conditions are infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting with frequent opportunity to move about; occasional need to move or lift light articles.
- Overnight travel required less than 10% of the time.
