Responsibilities
- Respond to customer parts or information requests quickly
- Identify customer needs and opportunities that will produce additional sales
- Prepare and present sales proposals
- Present new items or services during each visit
- Communicate with customers regarding parts
- Record parts information carefully and identify parts using the most efficient method
- Determine parts availability, parts price information, and documentation
- Provide parts to customers from stock, procure locally, or create a parts order as directed
- Maintain accurate and timely activity and sales reports
- Monitor the status of customer parts orders
- Periodically deliver light parts when logistically advantageous or to address customer needs
- Provide conscientious customer service, including problem identification and concern resolution
Requirements
- 2-3+ years of automotive or truck parts sales experience
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Effective team member with excellent communication skills
- Customer appreciation and ability to build professional relationships
- Commitment to customer satisfaction by addressing potential issues proactively
- Basic computer skills and literacy required
- Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive or truck mechanics
- Parts department experience, particularly in a truck/auto dealership or truck aftermarket
- Knowledge and ability to apply basic mathematics
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Computer proficiency (Email, Microsoft Word & Excel, CRM)
