What You Can Earn
Earn up to $35.99 per hour, depending on experience and skill level. Additional opportunities for overtime, training, and long‑term advancement.
What You’ll Do
- Install, align, and repair ship machinery including propelling machinery, pumps, motors, ventilation equipment, and steering gear.
- Work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to complete precision mechanical installations.
- Lay out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and structural surfaces for the installation of shafting, steam lines, and related systems.
- Align reduction gears, bearings, shafting, propellers, rudders, and steering engine assemblies.
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and alignment instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support ship construction across diverse shipyard environments and be available to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

What You Bring
- The ability to install, align, repair, and test ship machinery and mechanical systems
- The skills to read blueprints, perform precision measurements, and assemble propulsion and steering components
- Ability to work safely and effectively in complex shipyard environments
- Strong commitment to accuracy, craftsmanship, and teamwork
Must Have
- Experience as an Outside Machinist or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Prior shipyard experience as an Outside Machinist.
