Job Responsibilities
- Install wireways supporting cables in submarines.
- Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones (also includes control, power, electronics, and weapon systems).
- Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting.
- Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connecterization.
- Groom electrical components for a variety of inspections, and also responsible to provide documentation for every job performed.
- Provide skills, including Vulcanization of ship's cables and the installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services.
- Learn power and data/signal cable splicing.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED or 2+ years related technical experience.
- Must have 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Must be available for all shifts.
