About the role

Are you passionate about working with adolescents and making a lasting impact in your community? The Homeless Youth Program at Youth Outreach Services (YOS) is seeking a dedicated Homeless Youth Outreach Specialist to support youth ages 18-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This role focuses on outreach, case management, and advocacy, helping young people achieve stability and long-term independence.

Responsibilities

• Identify and connect with homeless youth in the community who could benefit from YOS services.
• Provide safety assessments, life skills training, education assistance, and resource referrals.
• Work alongside the Homeless Youth Case Manager to create individualized service plans.
• Assist youth in transitional housing by facilitating life skills training and educational workshops.
• Educate schools, police departments, and social service agencies about YOS services to strengthen referral pathways.
• Build relationships with local community organizations and resources to better serve the youth population.
• Represent YOS at community outreach events and advocacy initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required (some college coursework in human services or related fields is a plus).
• Previous work in juvenile justice, child welfare, residential programs, homeless youth services, or community outreach preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, advocacy, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with local programs and services for at-risk youth is a plus.
• A valid driver’s license and daily access to a personal vehicle are required.
• Spanish language ability preferred but not required.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday - Friday 10 A.M - 6 P.M. Flexible hours based on program needs.

Pay

$40,000 - $46,000 (based on experience & qualifications).
