About the role
The Outreach Specialist will lead integrated communications, marketing, and user engagement efforts for the California Community Colleges' Vision Resource Center (VRC).
Responsibilities
- Blend strategic program communications planning, content and campaign execution, community moderation and training, stakeholder engagement, and analytics-driven optimization to grow adoption and deepen value for colleges, districts, and system professionals.
- Partner with senior and cross-functional leaders to shape VRC Outreach Specialist strategies aligned with Vision 2030 priorities.
- Create and distribute integrated campaigns (email, newsletters, web, flyers, slide decks, and internal updates).
- Maintain the public-facing VRC website (WordPress) and contribute to the Universal Website initiative with a user-centered, accessible approach.
- Coach, train, and support VRC community moderators and event managers; maintain select systemwide communities and events.
- Present regularly to end users on VRC value and functionality; manage new requests for systemwide communities and events.
- Represent the VRC at key events and collaborate with teammates to drive measurable outcomes from participation.
- Track and analyze engagement using Google Analytics, Cornerstone Reporting 2.0, and dashboards to inform strategy and content optimization.
- Leverage SEO and analytics best practices to elevate engagement and reach.
Requirements
- Relevant BA/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.
- Minimum of two (2) + years of full-time program experience required.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile project management expectations.
- Experience training adult learners preferred.
- Experience working in a learning management system (Cornerstone preferred).
- State or national level work preferred.
- General knowledge of the California community colleges and higher education issues.
- Able to have work be informed by a system view of the California community colleges and the CCC Chancellor’s Office.
