Outreach Program Associate

About the role

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate professional to serve as an Outreach Program Associate in our community‑centered, Enriching Learning programming. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive, authentic relationships with program participants, community members, staff, and community partners
• Ensure logistics of programming are appropriately prepared
• Work to create a safe and productive learning environment
• Communicate with parents and caregivers of youth involved in programs
• Train and supervise volunteers during programming
• Facilitate community‑centered programming, with a focus on English as a Second Language (ESL) and education

Requirements

• Minimum of one year related experience
• Self‑motivated, organized, with strong oral and written communication skills, problem‑solving, and multi‑tasking abilities
• Experience with computers and customer service preferred
• Willing to work on projects with varying programming and reporting requirements
• Some evening and weekend work required
• Ability to travel to and between branch locations and event locations
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Pay

$25 per hour for up to 10 hours per week

Schedule

Part‑time position (up to 10 hours per week); some evening and weekend work required
