About the role

The Community Coordinator will manage a team of up to six Outreach Specialists, coordinating their activities and motivating them in their work. They will ensure that daily and weekly outreach goals are met and report up the chain of command on those goals. They will provide programmatic support and logistical planning for Outreach teams and the Outreach Directors. They will identify opportunities for new relationships and collaboration with relevant community stakeholders. They will prepare and deliver presentations at meetings, events, and other community gatherings. They will lead trainings for staff and community stakeholders. They will maintain records of events, projects, and referrals to teams using a variety of technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of up to six Outreach Specialists, coordinating their activities and motivating them in their work.
  • Ensure that daily and weekly outreach goals are met and report up the chain of command on those goals.
  • Provide programmatic support and logistical planning for Outreach teams and the Outreach Directors.
  • Identify opportunities for new relationships and collaboration with relevant community stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at meetings, events, and other community gatherings.
  • Lead trainings for staff and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain records of events, projects, and referrals to teams using a variety of technologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with community, issue, labor, or political organizing preferred; experience managing an outreach or community service team preferred; Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to engage people in conversation; Strong written and oral communication skills in English; Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment; Willingness to learn, be flexible, and adapt to work assignments in a variety of situations and problem solve.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Skills

  • Experience with community, issue, labor, or political organizing preferred.

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm
