About the role

The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing therapy services to patients and families through telehealth services. They will conduct evaluations and provide treatment for individuals of all ages via interactive video communication. This role involves ongoing therapy, completing biopsychosocial assessments for Avel eCare patients, and serving as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and implement therapy services to patients and families through telehealth.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and functions with a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Consult with psychiatrists and other Specialty Clinic staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for patient care crisis problems and reported symptoms.
  • Provide consulting services to outlying partnering facilities.
  • Develop policies and procedures as part of the Avel eCare Specialty Clinic Services interdisciplinary team to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate leadership in promoting sustainable changes in service delivery and practice to improve the quality of services provided.
  • Demonstrate ethical decision-making by applying standards of the NASW Code of Ethics to everyday practice.
  • Recognize, understand, and respect how certain cultures’ structures and values may oppress, marginalize, alienate, and create or enhance privilege and power.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness to eliminate the influence of personal biases and values in working with diverse populations.
  • Supervise LCSW teammates working towards PIP when applicable.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience providing individual counseling services.
  • Crisis intervention training preferred.
  • Experience working with clients having dual diagnoses issues (addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health conditions) preferred.
  • Experience conducting evaluations and providing individual therapy services to individuals preferred.
  • Licensed to work independently as a Social Worker within the states where they are assigned with Avel eCare programs.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mental Health (LPC-MH or Certified Social Worker - Private or Independent Practice (CSW-PIP) or state equivalent.

Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST.
