Outpatient / School Based Therapist

Qualifications

Master's level in Counseling or Social Work (Other license-eligible Masters Degrees will be considered).

At least one year of experience in individual, family, and group therapy methods preferred.

Act 33/34 & PA FBI clearances required.

Child Protective Service Law Training (CPSL) completion required.

Evidence and demonstration of cultural humility required.

Maintain a current driver's license and insurance coverage for vehicle.

Must have own transportation.

Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • School Based
    • Provides individual counseling, group counseling, and care management for children and adolescents with mental disorders during the 10-month school year.
    • Affirms strengths and therapeutic needs of children and families.
    • Maintains timely and adequate documentation (including reports, summaries, and letters) on each client assigned.
    • Requires travel to school-based locations in Mercer County.
    • Provides community education as time permits. This involves public speaking, and planning and participating in education workshops, seminars, etc.
    • Participates in the utilization/peer review process, audits, supervision, and treatment team meetings.
    • Includes child as a participant in his/her own treatment.
    • Reports directly to assigned Clinical Supervisor.
  • Outpatient
    • Provides individual counseling, group counseling, and care management for children and adolescents with mental disorders.
    • Affirms strengths and therapeutic needs of children and families.
    • Maintains timely and adequate documentation (including reports, summaries, and letters) on each client assigned.
    • This position may require work in satellite office (Grove City and Greenville).
    • Participates on agency committees as time and scheduling permit.
    • Provides strength-based services that are child-centered and family-focused.
    • Recommends and refers for special evaluations and services, such as psychiatric assessment or psychological testing.
    • Involves and encourages participation of collateral supports (i.e., family, friends, other providers) in treatment and treatment planning.
    • Reports directly to assigned Clinical Supervisor.
    • May be required to work evening hours. May also be required to work non-traditional hours if needed. Supervisor will determine this according to need.
    • Maintains and upholds Community Counseling Center's policies, respects confidentiality, and exhibits a professional demeanor at all times while at work.
    • Adheres to agency policies and procedures/job duties or will be subject to disciplinary action.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Can perform the essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodations, if necessary.
    • Participates in CCC CQI plan to ensure quality of service to CCC consumers.
    • Hours: 10-month school year, typically aligned with the school's calendar. Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8a.m.-5p.m.
    • Opportunity to work through summer break for additional incentive.
