Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs direct nursing care services and/or clinical education to clients and their families/significant others.
- Performs nursing assessments of clients of all ages to determine current status and act on needed interventions.
- Documents assessment results and formulates nursing interventions based on assessment outcomes.
- Performs venipuncture and other CLIA-waived testing, including urine drug screening and breathalyzer.
- Administers injections.
- Completes AIMS Assessments as ordered by the MD or APRN.
- Ensures physician/APRN orders are responded to in a timely manner.
- Facilitates collection of laboratory specimens, ensuring proper completion of requisition forms.
- Demonstrates knowledge of normal and abnormal lab values.
- Maintains client vital signs including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Collaborates with community providers for appropriate referrals and ensures follow-up documentation.
- Assumes leadership role in medical emergencies, directing other team members and making decisions for additional emergency care.
- Provides health-related training and education for clients and families as needed.
- Facilitates health education groups as necessary.
- Maintains examination room, equipment, and supplies to ensure a clean and safe environment for client care.
- Provides clinical supervision for assigned nursing services staff.
- Delegates or follows through with assignments to promote safe and optimal care of the client and the other staff.
- Exhibits clear and professional communication with clients, other staff, and providers to ensure optimal client care.
- Communicates information clearly to physicians and other providers, including any adverse reactions to medications.
- Effectively communicates with families, other Claratel programs, and/or community partners as needed to promote client care, staff functioning, or business processes.
- Completes all documentation within 24 hours of service delivery.
Skills, Competency And Education And/Or Licensure Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed to practice in the State of Georgia.
- Able to perform venipuncture and medication injections.
- Basic computer and typing skills.
- Knowledge of normal and abnormal lab values.
- Ability to use an electronic health record.
- Prior experience working with behavioral health preferred.

- Professionally interfaces with clients, families, and caregivers with a recovery-focused and trauma-informed approach.
- Communicates effectively with co-workers at multiple sites, internal and external customers, and the public.
Working Conditions
- Works in an outpatient clinic 8:15am-5:00pm with some evening hours and/or weekend hours (as determined by clinic needs).
- Flexibility to float to other agency sites as needed to assure coverage.
