Licensed physical therapist responsible for direct and indirect care in the rehabilitation of patients. Diagnose and manage movement dysfunction, enhance physical and functional abilities, promote wellness and fitness, and improve quality of life related to movement and health. Prevent impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities resulting from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries.
About the Role
Evaluates orthopedic and neurological patients in an outpatient setting, plans, and administers treatments to relieve pain or improve function. Provides professional care in accordance with APTA standards and Tennessee State Board of Examiners scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.
- Deliver age-appropriate treatment and participate in team meetings and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families about treatment programs.
- Direct Physical Therapist Assistants and Patient Care Technicians in patient treatments.
- Maintain accurate written reports and uphold APTA standards for treatment procedures and professional ethics.
- Participate in continuing education programs and community education.
- Act as a clinical instructor for PT and PTA students.
- Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement efforts within the department and Medical Center.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (required).
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (preferred).
- Tennessee Physical Therapist licensure (required).
- BLS certification completed prior to starting and maintained (required).
- Manual Therapy Skill Set/Certification (preferred).
Experience
- Knowledge of general physical therapy principles and practical skills (required).
- 2–3 years of outpatient orthopedic practice experience (preferred).
Location: Physician Practices, Chattanooga, TN. Standard full-time hours.
