Outpatient Mental Health Therapist

About the role

Provide guidance, direction, and counsel clients with mental health diagnosis/histories in an outpatient setting. The individual will act as contact for clients and assist them with their concerns and problems.

Responsibilities

• Treatment/therapy and rehabilitative services including family therapy and parenting support groups
• Conduct intake and assessment as well as program orientation for family members
• Monitor and supervise visits
• Aid clients in reaching their goals and objectives, helping them reintegrate into the immediate family structure

Requirements

• Knowledge of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Policy, Nursing or other related fields
• Human relation skills
• Knowledgeable of diagnosing and treating clients with mental health disabilities
• Familiarity with the criminal justice system and community resources
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work with all levels of management, employees, and clients
• Self-starting, motivated, and adept to changing technology
• Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

Qualifications

• Masters' Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field
• License preferred
