Outpatient Mental Health Therapist

Licensed or conditionally licensed master’s-level Outpatient Mental Health Therapist with a passion for mental health, based in Portland, Maine. Full-time salaried position at $47,932 annually (based on $23/hour) with a weekly $80 bonus if performance threshold is met.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and determine client eligibility for HOM programs.
• Conduct screening interviews and use standardized mental health and substance use assessment tools.
• Complete intake documentation and enter data into our EHR system.
• Provide individualized outpatient therapy services.
• Manage crisis situations to ensure client safety.
• Develop diagnoses and treatment plans tailored to client needs.
• Write formal evaluation reports that meet HOM standards.
• Participate in case reviews, supervision sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure services are delivered with cultural competence and in accordance with diversity and inclusion principles.

Requirements

• Active ME State license (LCSW, LCPC, LMSW, or conditional licenses such as LCSW-CC, LCPC-CC, LMSW-CC) or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience in psychosocial assessment, particularly with youth, young adults, or underserved populations (e.g., immigrants, homeless individuals, legal system-involved).
• Strong ability to work independently and in high-paced environments.
• Minimum of 28 billable hours per week required.
