Outpatient Endocrinologist

Department Job Description Summary

The Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Endocrinologist to join their expanding outpatient endocrinology practice. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult patients with endocrine disorders, working closely with primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members.

Essential Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult patients with endocrine disorders
• Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing current clinical guidelines
• Interpret endocrine laboratory studies and diagnostic testing
• Utilize diabetes technologies including: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), insulin pump therapy
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care for complex endocrine patients
• Maintain timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Educate patients regarding disease processes and treatment options
• Promote preventive care and chronic disease management
• Encourage shared decision-making

Collaboration

• Provide consultation and guidance to referring physicians
• Teach medical students and residents
• Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings
• Interest in clinical research and teaching is a plus

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete medical records in a timely manner
• Respond to patient communications within established standards
• Participate in departmental meetings
