About the Role

HIM Outpatient Coder responsible for coding and abstracting outpatient records with a focus on accuracy and clinical clarity.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract outpatient health records with two years of continuous hospital experience within the last five years.
• Understand the clinical content of health records.
• Communicate with physicians to clarify diagnoses, procedures, and sequencing of diagnoses.

Requirements

• Certified Coding Associate (CCA).
• Eligibility to become a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-5 years of hospital experience.

Schedule

• 13-week assignment.
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Hawaii Standard Time).

Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. The facility is located in the commercial hub of the island, offering access to beaches, outdoor adventures, swimming, diving, surfing, snorkeling, scenic drives, and hiking.

Pay

$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
