About the role

Pine Rest is a non-profit behavioral health system committed to providing expert care for mental health and substance use disorders. Services include psychiatric urgent care, a pediatric behavioral health center, and a variety of outpatient, inpatient, and residential programs. The organization supports ongoing education and training for its care providers.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and assesses patients through mental status evaluations and reviews records from other patient care staff.
  • Selects and implements appropriate therapeutic interventions based on clinical knowledge and educational background.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to discuss patient progress and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Maintains medical records and ensures timely entry of progress notes according to organizational and departmental procedures.
  • Coordinates services and community resources as needed and assists patients in accessing them.
  • Attends departmental and staff meetings and participates in relevant committees.
  • Maintains Michigan licensure requirements and continues professional development through education and training.
  • Provides consultation to professionals and organizations outside of Pine Rest.
  • Creates a supportive environment and may need to visit patients at their homes.
  • Supports and promotes a recovery-focused environment and person-centered approach.
  • May initiate and implement clinical safety measures during crisis situations.
  • Maintains annual training and demonstrates competency in required programmatic training.

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure in an accredited Master’s level program in Social Work, limited license Psychologist, or Professional Counseling.
  • Two or more years of postgraduate clinical experience.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations and a strong clinical background in treating eating disorders.
  • Experience in evidence-based therapy modalities for treating eating disorders (CBT-E, FBT, RO-DBT, ACT).
  • Knowledge and experience in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, pediatricians, dieticians, and other behavioral health specialists.
  • Effectively navigates patients and families through various levels of care/treatment, especially for eating disorders.
