About the role
The Outpatient Behavioral Health Therapist upholds the health center's mission to ensure access to recovery-oriented Behavioral Health services and resources that value dignity and worth of the person. This role commits to strong consumer satisfaction and delivery of high-quality clinical services that address the whole person, result in better health outcomes, and help maintain the fiscal and operational capacity of the Behavioral Health Department.
Location: Hybrid at 6120 Woodland Ave., Philadelphia.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, and groups as needed, to meet set productivity targets:
- Adult Therapist: average of 24 sessions each week
- Child/Adult Therapist: average of 23 sessions each week
- Child Therapist: average of 22 sessions each week
- Complete all charting as required by contracted funding sources, including intakes, psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, service logs, and discharge planning.
- Participate in regular supervision with designated Clinical and Administrative Supervisors, team meetings, case conferences, consultations, and interdisciplinary work groups.
- Provide crisis intervention: be immediately available during working hours for psychiatric emergencies and participate in regular on-call rotation after hours.
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, medical staff, and refer clients to other levels of care or services as needed.
- Maintain competencies in mental health and substance abuse as required by licensing and funding bodies, including current PA license to practice.
- Collaborate with FPCSN Providers and staff to ensure integrated, person-centered care; attend and participate in case conferences, departmental, interdisciplinary, site-level, and network-level team meetings.
- Support FPCSN’s commitment to a trauma-informed system of care, recognizing and responding to the impact of traumatic stress on all individuals.
Requirements
- Earned master’s degree in social work, psychology, or an applied mental health related field.
- Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
- Minimum of two years' experience as a licensed clinician providing therapy to individuals and families.
- Experience and competency conducting assessments and psychotherapy with individuals, families, couples, and groups with behavioral health challenges, including substance abuse.
- Experience with mental health crisis assessment and intervention.
- Effective and concise oral and written communication skills; ability to meet deadlines for clinical documentation.
- Maintain required training in mental health and/or subspecialties (e.g., children).
- Ability to utilize and follow mental health requirements set by state licensing bodies and insurance credentialing.
