SUMMARY
Under general supervision, perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in all phases of school grounds maintenance including: facility repair and maintenance; snow/ice removal; turf, tree, shrub, and plant care; repair of irrigation systems; and playground and athletic facility repair and maintenance.
JOB TASKS
- Perform necessary repairs to outdoor facilities, playgrounds, etc.
- Repair and renovate irrigation systems (seasonal).
- Operate medium to heavy duty motor vehicles and equipment.
- Repair electrical problems in controllers, pumps, and electrical valves (seasonal).
- Provide assistance to seasonal/hourly personnel in the field.
- Utilize District computer system.
- Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain athletic fields and tennis, basketball, and all hard surface courts for recreational use (seasonal).
- Operate specialized turf maintenance equipment.
- Renovate athletic fields and maintain backstops, fences, and metal bleachers.
- Perform snow removal and ice mitigation as needed (seasonal) to ensure safe egress to and from buildings.
- Respond as essential personnel in case of an emergency, weather or environmental event, and/or school/facility/district closure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED
- Two to three years of related experience in grounds maintenance or closely related field
- Vocational school or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Valid Colorado Driver's License
- Must meet District driver insurability requirements
- Valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain CDL within six months of hire date
