Outdoor Adventure Guide

About the role

This seasonal Adventure Guide position runs from late November through December, with opportunities continuing throughout the winter season. You’ll lead a variety of outdoor activities—including snowmobiling tours, sporting clays, backcountry off‑road vehicle tours, backcountry dinner nights, and e‑bike tours—while providing exceptional guest service. Affordable on‑mountain employee housing is available for rent, and the work location is 10 Snowshoe Drive, Snowshoe, WV 26209.

Responsibilities

• Lead exhilarating tours, guiding guests through scenic trails while ensuring safety and providing instruction.
• Organize and oversee sporting clays activities, setting up shooting stations and offering guidance on shooting techniques.
• Navigate rugged terrain during backcountry off‑road vehicle tours, highlighting points of interest and ensuring participant safety.
• Guide guests on e‑bike tours, showcasing landscapes and sharing knowledge about local flora, fauna, and landmarks.
• Coordinate unforgettable backcountry dinner nights by setting up dinner and serving guests.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and concerns to ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain and upkeep all equipment used during tours (snowmobiles, off‑road vehicles, e‑bikes, safety gear) to ensure safety and functionality.
• Uphold safety protocols, conduct safety briefings, and implement emergency response plans when necessary.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as tour scheduling, payment processing, and maintaining accurate records of guest information and tour activities.
• Stay informed about local regulations, environmental conservation efforts, and best practices in outdoor recreation, educating guests accordingly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program.
• Knowledge of safety practices; CPR/first aid certification preferred.
• Previous outdoor adventure tour leadership preferred, especially in snowmobiling, off‑road vehicles, shooting sports, and biking.
• Strong leadership abilities to guide groups effectively outdoors.
• Familiarity with local geography, trails, and conservation principles.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.

$15.00 per hour
