Outbound Short Runner

About the role

The associate will retrieve product that is not available during the selection process and accurately place products on shorted selection pallets or trailers. The associate will operate a reach forklift in the replenishment process by lowering stock from high-level reserve slots to lower-level pick slots during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Stock, select, and load product that is not available during the selection process.
• Document inventory control issues (e.g., replenishment forces, slotting recommendations).
• Attend safety meetings and perform pre-shift stretches.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Don and doff Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain work area clean-up.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience.
• Sysco experience or experience in a high-volume distribution environment preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months of warehouse reach forklift experience.
• Pallet jack and forklift certification (preferred).

Skills

• Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of inventory control techniques, product lines, and Sysco safety policies (preferred but not required).
• Ability to manage pressure and stress in a deadline-oriented atmosphere.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to operate powered industrial reach truck, forklift, tugger, and pallet jack.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 pounds regularly, 75 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds rarely.
