Outbound - Material Handler I

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and cherry pickers to unload materials and merchandise from incoming trucks and pick product for shipment.
• Accurately pick parts throughout the warehouse.
• Sort and gather completed orders for wrapping and staging.
• Weigh product using the proper scales and measure weight and dimensions of all pallets wrapped or staged.
• Check part numbers and quantities with a high degree of accuracy.
• Verify all shipments are completed before beginning the staging process.
• Accurately pack orders into shipping cartons, ensuring all components of the order are accounted for and match the correct customer.
• Read customer order notes and fulfill orders according to any special customer requirements.
• Maintain a freight board detailing the finished freight locations in all staging lanes.
• Maintain stock of warehouse and shipping supplies.
• Assist in counting physical inventory and perform inventory audits as needed.
• Notify Department Lead or Department Supervisor of any stock shelf issues.
• Load and unload trucks as needed.
• Report defective materials, product shortages, and questionable conditions to the Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and orderliness.
• Follow all safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of related job experience preferred.
• RF Handheld Experience preferred.
• Certified to operate forklifts and cherry pickers.
• Strong proficiency in English communication, including reading, writing, and verbal interactions, to comply with safety protocols and operational procedures.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand and walk on level surfaces for prolonged periods.
• Talk and hear; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Lift up to 20 lbs. for 70% of the day and up to 65 lbs. for 30% of the day.

Non-climate-controlled warehouse.
