This is a short-term contract role with the largest public energy provider in the U.S., located in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Outage Maintenance Coordinator to lead and support maintenance activities across Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) departments at a nuclear facility. In this role, you will oversee site craft personnel, direct complex outage schedules, and ensure full compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise maintenance craft personnel to ensure safe, high-quality execution of plant maintenance and strict compliance with license requirements.
  • Conduct safety and job performance observations, set clear expectations, and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Administer Labor Agreements (Annual Salary Policy and Trades & Labor) fairly and effectively.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute schedules for refueling, forced outages, and planned system/component maintenance.
  • Cross-functionally align with department managers to set priorities, resolve scheduling conflicts, and establish temporary remedial actions.
  • Recommend schedule enhancements and continuously refine workflows to meet key plant milestones.
  • Manage maintenance execution by removing operational roadblocks and securing necessary resources, materials, and support.
  • Review work-in-progress, work orders, and documentation to verify quality standards, proper work planning, and overall efficiency.
  • Oversee and control work performed by offsite contractors and external personnel, ensuring full compliance with site standards.
  • Implement corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and Technical Specification Surveillance instructions for assigned systems.
  • Prepare detailed man-hour estimates, cost projections, and implementation schedules for outage and non-outage activities.
  • Manage department activities within approved budgets.
  • Evaluate training needs, assess program adequacy, and provide performance coaching to refine team qualifications.
  • Maintain active qualifications for Emergency Preparedness planning and actively participate in program execution.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
  • Additional technical or supervisory training is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the specific craft or discipline supervised.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Nuclear Unescorted Plant Access.

Pay

Hourly Rate Range: up to $62.75/hour (time and a half for overtime).
