Out of School Time Goup Lead

Essential Functions

• Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests.
• Exemplifies the Y’s commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries promptly.
• Supervises a group of children grades K-5.
• Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally proper, and consistent with the YMCA values.
• Provides leadership to co-staff.
• Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
• Attends staff meetings, training, and dedicated events (Family nights and others).
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
• Fulfills any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Must pass a background check
• 2+ years' experience working with youth, preferably in a school age setting.
• Behavioral management experience within a School, Childcare, Camp setting or parenthood is preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience working with children with cognitive and developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Effective verbal communication skills
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training with the first 30 days of hire.
• Completed health form within the first 30 days of hire.
