Oupatient Ancillary Coder

About the role

This position is responsible for applying codes in the EHR for all outpatient ancillary type accounts. Code assignment is based on ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and CPT.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT codes (when appropriate) with an accuracy rate of 97% or greater.
• Meets minimum daily productivity standard of 100 ancillary type records.
• Verifies department added procedure charges when necessary.
• Applies modifiers when appropriate.
• Maintains follow up work queues in a timely manner.
• Works independently in a remote environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year ICD-10-CM/CPT coding experience in an acute care hospital OR successful completion of an accredited coding program

Qualifications

• One of the following credentials required – AHIMA: CCS/RHIT/RHIA or AAPC: COC

Pay Range

$29.20/hr - $42.33/hr
