Meet the patient's goals and needs
- Assess and interpret evaluations and test results
- Determine occupational therapy treatment plans
- Consult with physicians or by prescription
- Implement programs involving manual arts and crafts
- Practice in functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills
- Direct aides, technicians, and assistants
- Select and construct therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest
- Rehabilitate patients to return to employment
- Consult with employers, determine potential employee difficulties, retrain employees, help employers understand necessary physical and job result accommodations
- Evaluate results of occupational therapy
- Recommend and implement adjustments and modifications
- Complete discharge planning
- Contribute to patient care conferences
- Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
- Recommend and/or provide assistive equipment
- Recommend outpatient or home health follow-up programs
Document patient care services
- Chart in patient and department records
Maintain patient confidence and protect hospital operations
- Keep confidential information

Ensure operation of equipment

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
- Unrestricted and current state of Texas licensure required
- Master’s Degree preferred
- BLS required
- 3-5 years experience in an acute care setting preferred

About the Role
Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac, orthopedic, nephrology, urology, and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic, orthopedic, urology, and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms, 4 fully operating OR rooms, 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room, 11-day surgery rooms, 58 acute care beds spread over three units, and 16 cardiac critical care rooms.
