About the role

The Occupational Therapy Student Aide helps prepare patients and the environment for treatments and assists therapists in performing treatment under his/her supervision. This position requires providing service to the following age population(s): pediatric, adolescent, adult, older adult, and frail elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Responsibilities

  • Helps prepare patients and the environment for treatments
  • Assists therapists in performing treatment under supervision
  • Serves patients from pediatric, adolescent, adult, older adult, and frail elderly populations
  • Demonstrates understanding of the functional/developmental age of individuals served

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an OT program
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Patient care related experience strongly preferred

Qualifications

  • BLS, CPR Certification Required through the AHA

Skills

  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions
