OT Cyber Security Lead
This position can be based in Scottsdale, AZ or remotely within the continental U.S. and will require approximately 10% travel.
About the role
DEPCOM's SCADA team is composed of individuals with a diverse background in engineering, construction, operations, and project management. We are focused on designing and delivering HMI/SCADA and EMS systems that allow our partners to leverage the full capabilities of their renewable generation site. The SCADA team collaborates with other business units through the full lifecycle of the project to develop creative solutions, utilizing new and existing technology, that meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Function as the OT and Cybersecurity team representative in engineering and technical design updates and discussions
- Authorize and oversee DEPCOM Cybersecurity policies across active EPC projects including Remote Access Procedures and Project Handoff deliverables
- Review EPC requirements and specifications for the Cybersecurity, Networking, and NERC Compliance portions of the EPC contract
- Coordinate technical reviews with SCADA suppliers, customers, and the Project Integration team ensuring that the design meets the EPC contract and Industry standards
- Witness the SCADA Factory Acceptance Testing and follow through identified punch list items
- Identify technical and compliance risks and communicate to the SCADA PM any impacts to the project schedule and cost
- Provide subject matter expertise on the SCADA network architecture for the substation, PV, BESS and associate connected network peripherals
- Collaborate with SCADA Vendors and Commissioning to troubleshoot network equipment that is not performing as designed
- Travel to the job site as required to provide support
- Advise owners and subcontractors on proper IT/OT Network segmentation
- Support SCADA team with owner related questions on CIP documentation and vulnerability scans
Requirements
- Experience working directly on Network design for utility-scale Power Plants
- Understanding of NERC requirements including CIP and asset management
- Experience troubleshooting network issues in factory and in commissioning environments
- Experience reviewing and developing technical documents and presenting their requirements to stakeholders and peers
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or technical field
- Understanding of SCADA server environments (i.e. VMware, Windows, and/or Linux systems)
Skills
- Experience in the design and startup of PV and/or BESS plants
- Experience presenting and explaining complex issues to stakeholders that do not have a technical background
- Coordination experience with Owners, Utilities, ISO's and/or Integrators
- Versed knowledge in modern network architecture and NERC and FERC standards
- Experience with Fortinet and Cisco networking and security platforms, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, and Cisco switches/routers
- Experience designing and operating segmented OT networks using Fortinet and Cisco solutions, including VPNs, secure remote access, and/or zero-trust architectures
Pay
For this role, we anticipate paying $135,000 - $175,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. Compensation may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
