OSP Designer - Mi-Tech Services, Inc.
About the role
The OSP Designer I will interpret customer-provided route proposals and incorporate them into Outside Plant (OSP) designs. Responsibilities include acquiring field data for OSP design, importing the data into the design, associating features correctly within AutoCAD, creating construction and permitting drawings, determining construction unit descriptions, completing OSP project designs, including aerial, buried, and underground, utilizing AutoCAD, Adobe, GIS, and Excel, completing construction unit and material summaries, assisting with ROW permitting and submittals, ensuring all deliverable documents are complete at project handoff, and being introduced to fiber/copper counts.
Responsibilities
- Interpret customer-provided route proposals and incorporate them into OSP designs
- Acquire field data for OSP design and import the data into the design
- Associate features correctly within AutoCAD to create construction and permitting drawings
- Determine construction unit descriptions and complete the design of OSP projects, including aerial, buried, and underground
- Utilize AutoCAD, Adobe, GIS, and Excel to complete OSP design tasks
- Complete construction unit and material summaries
- Assist with ROW permitting and submittals
- Ensure all deliverable documents are complete at project handoff
- Be introduced to fiber/copper counts
Requirements
- 2-3 years related experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, and AutoCAD
- OSP Telecom experience (preferred)
- Detail-focused and well-organized with good problem-solving skills
- Able to work as part of a team, yet be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Experience: 2-3 years related experience in OSP design and/or telecommunications

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $26—$32 USD. Actual pay will be adjusted based on individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
