Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all safety standards and regulations are consistently followed.
  • Serve as a field leader in establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture among crews and subcontractors.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily field operations for aerial, underground, and splicing crews.
  • Ensure construction quality, accuracy of work performed, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Oversee and schedule construction inspections and manage true-up of unit quantities.
  • Represent the company during site walks, pre-construction meetings, and project closeout activities with customers and permitting authorities.
  • Identify potential construction issues early and implement effective, innovative solutions to prevent delays.
  • Monitor work progress, maintain accurate reports, and communicate status updates to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements for OSP construction projects.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within assigned crews.

Requirements

  • Exposure Primarily field-based role requiring regular travel to job sites.
  • Exposure to outdoor environments, weather elements, and moderate noise levels.
  • May require occasional work beyond standard hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Must comply with all ITG and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position: Strong leadership and mentoring of field personnel, Proactive identification and resolution of construction challenges, Consistent adherence to ITG safety and quality standards, Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching during field inspections.
  • Visual acuity to read construction drawings, maps, and digital screens.
  • Manual dexterity required for tools, equipment, and computer use.
  • Must be able to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety vest, gloves, and protective eyewear.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in OSP construction supervision or leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing or directing aerial, underground, and fiber splicing crews.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSP construction techniques, practices, and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, inspection coordination, and documentation processes.
  • Experience in telecommunications or utility construction required.
