Orthopedic Elective JoinT NP/PA

About the Role

As our Orthopedic Total Joint Advanced Practitioner, you will be a pivotal asset in acute care patient management, delivering comprehensive orthopedic support in a dynamic Phoenix, Arizona environment. Focused on elective total joints, you'll leverage your expertise as either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role involves travel between Chandler and Phoenix and includes working in both hospital and ambulatory settings—assisting in the OR and holding clinic alongside one adult reconstruction physician.

You will drive inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care across preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative phases. The position requires a strong foundation in orthopedic total joints, proficiency in medication administration, physical therapy prescriptions, and active participation in quality assurance and improvement initiatives. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and providing patient-centered care are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care patient management in orthopedic total joints
• Deliver comprehensive orthopedic support in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Assist in the OR and hold clinic in an ambulatory setting
• Collaborate with an adult reconstruction physician and multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Manage preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative phases of care
• Administer medications and prescribe physical therapy
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives

Requirements

For Physician Assistants (PA-C):

• PA Degree as a Physician Assistant
• Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Must hold and maintain:
  • AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License
  • NCCPA – National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification
• Valid DEA registration
• Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
• 3+ years of Total Joint/Elective experience

For Nurse Practitioners (NP):

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
• Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
• Compact state or Arizona RN license
• Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations:
  • NP-AACN, or
  • NP-AANP, or
  • NP-ANCC
• Valid DEA registration
• RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) certification
• 3+ years of Total Joint/Elective experience
• Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff

Pay
