Orthopaedic Assistant

About the role

The Medical Assistant, CCMA, LPN, EMT, or ATC provides direct patient care, supports physicians and providers, and ensures smooth clinic operations. The role involves escorting patients, collecting medical histories, documenting information, assisting with procedures, and providing patient education. Additionally, responsibilities include applying/removing casts and splints, fitting braces, managing wound dressings, preparing injections, and scheduling tests and referrals. The assistant maintains patient confidentiality, adheres to safety and compliance standards, and ensures exam rooms are properly stocked and cleaned.

Key Duties

• Support clinic policies, confidentiality, and safety protocols
• Assist with patient flow, documentation, and basic care
• Coordinate diagnostic tests and referrals
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff, demonstrating excellent customer service
• Exercise proper safety precautions and confidentiality measures

Qualifications & Skills

• High School diploma or GED
• Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), LPN, or ATC (or equivalent experience)
• CPR certification
• Previous experience in a medical setting preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail skills
