As an Orthodontic Team Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day functions of the orthodontic team, manage non-licensed staff, and support our mission of delivering excellent dental care in the community. This role involves promoting our services, engaging with patients (70% of whom are children), and fostering a collaborative, compassionate work environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the team delivers quality and compassionate dental care to every patient.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels by interviewing, screening, and selecting applicants to meet patient scheduling needs.
- Promote employee satisfaction and retention through effective communication, rewards/recognition, teamwork, and employee relations practices.
- Identify training needs and establish initiatives to meet company and individual objectives.
- Serve as the direct supervisor for assigned team members, providing coaching, development, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Adhere to company guidelines for payroll and other human resource functions.
- Hold staff accountable to the highest integrity standards, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.
- Achieve team performance targets and ensure operational readiness, appearance, and presentation of the workspace.
- Spend time with patients seeking orthodontic care, answering questions about treatment plans and fees.
- Ensure patients leave well-informed about their treatment and insurance coverage, providing a great patient experience.
- Serve as the financial and insurance benefit expert to maximize treatment acceptance.
- Present orthodontic treatment plans and cost estimates effectively.
- Educate patients about the orthodontist’s treatment plan after diagnosis and review by clinical staff.
- Track and monitor collections, follow up with patients as needed, and explain company payment policies.
- Promote treatment acceptance by explaining costs, insurance coverage, and financing options.
- Solicit patient referrals and track satisfaction with provided care.
- Adhere to all government regulations, company standards, and compliance programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the orthodontist and team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of management experience, preferably in healthcare or a dental environment.
- Dental Radiation Safety Certification (required).
- Additional certification may be required depending on location.
