Essential Functions
- Provides outstanding customer service with patient as #1 priority; partnering with staff, successfully resolves patient complaints, concerns and questions in a timely manner.
- Fully assists Orthodontist in the process of treating patients.
- Takes x-rays.
- Records patients’ medical history; takes blood pressure and pulse as needed.
- Helps patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
- Provides patients with instructions for oral care following appointments and procedures.
- Teaches patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to improve or maintain oral health.
- Performs operatory set up and break down.
- Sterilizes instruments.
- Effectively understands and utilizes company dental software, HRIS, applicable Microsoft Suite applications and other internet vehicles as necessary.
- Understands company’s timekeeping system and enters hours worked and PTO appropriately and timely; gains pre-approval from Office Manager for overtime; notifies Office Manager immediately of discrepancy in hours paid through payroll.
- Completes continuing education as required by office; monitors expiration of certifications making sure not to allow them to expire.
- Maintains facilities and equipment in accordance with hygiene and safety regulations including OSHA; follow required OSHA and Workers’ Compensation safety procedures and processes as necessary.
