About the role
The Strategic Initiatives Project Manager is a key leadership position responsible for managing and facilitating the Town’s strategic initiatives and projects. This role will work closely with the Town Manager, department directors, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the Town’s strategic goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage strategic initiatives and projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with the Town’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure project success.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to the Town Manager and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
- Facilitate strategic planning processes, including the development and implementation of the Town’s strategic plan.
- Support the Town Manager and department directors in the execution of strategic initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project management, strategic planning, or a related field, preferably in a municipal government setting.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to work effectively with elected officials, department directors, staff, and the public.
