About the role
We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the General Manager, Drains, this role is hybrid and based in North Andover, MA with occasional travel to St. Paul, NC.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical deliverables for Stage-Gate NPD projects.
- Solicit direct customer feedback on products and applications using various methods.
- Investigate new technologies, develop product architectures, and generate technical roadmaps.
- Design, develop, and optimize new products across various applications and industries.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and solutions.
- Manage workload and prioritize multiple design projects to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate and influence within the engineering organization to support goal achievement.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and technical reports.
- Iterate quickly and rapidly prototype designs for product ideas and enhancements.
- Assist engineering team in resolving technical issues and troubleshooting.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to incorporate into product development.
- Maintain a positive team environment and promote open communication.
- Adapt to changing work priorities and stressful conditions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, materials science, and mechanical engineering principles.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IPC, UPC, NPCC, ASME B31.3, ISO 10931, ASTM 1412.
- Practical knowledge in material properties, fluid mechanics, and analysis experience such as FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD solid modeling software, Auto Desk Inventor preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; master’s degree a plus.
- Technical Engineering Certification equivalent to a standard BS degree in Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in product engineering, sustaining engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of supervising or mentoring technical staff.
- Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing remote contract engineering resources.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
