Orderly

About the role

The orderly/transporter position at Spectrum Vision Partners and OCLI Vision involves providing routine housekeeping and environmental sanitation in Surgi-centers. You will also assist with inventory control, materials management, and the transportation of patients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest level of care for patients
• Understand and apply infection control and basic sterile techniques
• Provide patient care and collaborate with circulating nurses
• Transport patients between pre-op, OR, and post-op areas
• Set up and break down operating rooms as necessary
• Report patient observations to nurses
• Exercise basic knowledge of patient body mechanics during positioning
• Assist with OR setup (switching foot pedals, setting up the scope, etc.)
• Transport patients to their cars via wheelchair during discharge

Requirements

• BCLS certification preferred
• High school diploma required
• Prior hospital or Surgi-center experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player with ability to work independently

• Flexibility to work multiple shifts
• Disposal of waste in appropriate receptacles
• Reporting general repair issues to building manager
• Maintaining supply of linens and empty hampers
• Setting up and breaking down ORs as necessary
