About the Role

Order Selectors at Charlie's Produce play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive high-quality, accurate orders—every time. Using a hands-free voice pick system and riding an electric pallet jack, you’ll build organized pallets with care and precision in a refrigerated environment. This position is responsible for picking and palletizing full case produce orders while maintaining product integrity. Orders are wrapped and staged for delivery to the customer. We strive to maintain a safe warehouse environment while specializing in building organized orders with attention to quality and accuracy. Performance standards require meeting minimum pick rate requirements (pieces per hour).

Responsibilities

• Pick orders via headset using a voice pick system with attention to accuracy; each user trains the system to their unique voice.
• Organize orders on pallets as you pick to ensure product integrity (e.g., organic, fragile).
• Operate riding electric pallet jack (training and certification provided).
• Follow food safety quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Work in a refrigerated environment (35-56 degrees).
• Lift up to 50lbs frequently.
• Manage time and pick rate independently and without direct supervision.
• Prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Reliable, detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Safety-conscious and motivated to grow with the company.
• Preferred: Order picking or pallet building experience, prior work in food distribution.
• Preferred: Voice pick system experience (e.g., Vocollect).
• Preferred: At least one year of experience building pallets.
• Preferred: Electric pallet jack or other powered industrial truck experience (training and certification provided).
• Ability to adhere to food safety quality service standards.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (35-56 degrees) constantly.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently.

Pay

Starting at $20.00/hour + $1.00 swing shift differential. 90-day performance review with potential raise. Yearly review with possibility of increase based on performance.

Schedule

5:00pm start time. Days off and split days will be communicated with the job offer. Shift length varies daily depending on customer order volume, with opportunities for overtime, especially during the busy season.
