Order Picker

About the role

Pulls merchandise from stock for high‑volume business delivery orders, loads items on pallets using manual or electric pallet jacks, boxes small cooler and freezer items in milk crates, and operates a pallet jack to load delivery trucks while providing a high level of member service.

Responsibilities

• Lifts pallets from low stacks and sets them on the floor.
• Engages pallets with manual or electric pallet jacks.
• Observes safety and security procedures, including daily safety checklists for electric pallet jacks, inspecting manual pallet jacks and pallets, tagging defects, and using proper lifting techniques.
• Obtains pick labels from the control desk and scans them to initiate picks.
• Operates pallet jack/EPJ to move pallets through the warehouse, selects items from floor stock to assemble orders, and verifies correct item and quantity using the WM scanning system while ensuring items are in good condition.
• Enlists forklift drivers to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large‑quantity orders and spots drivers to keep people out of fall‑danger zones.
• Scans items, enters notes for approved substitutions or out‑of‑stock items, and lists short items through a wrist scanner.
• Follows departmental procedures for paperwork and performance of duties.
• Researches items not found using the computer system.
• Transfers completed orders to the dock area and places pick stickers on top of pallets for loaders.
• Maximizes picking efficiency based on number of items pulled, use of pre‑pickers and base‑pickers, and store productivity goals.
• Operates a pallet jack to move completed orders into delivery trucks.
• Assists with department duties and supports other warehouse areas as needed.

• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery safely.
